World Class FC Completes Youth Development Study in England
at Manchester City FC and Arsenal FC.
Recently, Kazbek Tambi (Executive DOC), Vincent Sileo (Boys DOC), and Elbrus Tambi (Boys U8 Coach) performed a comprehensive review of the youth development model at English Premier League clubs Manchester City and Arsenal FC.
During the first part of the trip, the World Class staff spent several days evaluating the complete boys academy (U7-U18) at Manchester City. This involved studying all of the training plans, evaluating sessions with academy coaches, and finishing each day with a private workshop with Rodolfo Borell (Global Youth Director of Manchester City). Rodolfo, who had previously served for several years as the youth director of Barcelona and coach of Lionel Messi, did review the Spanish influenced methodology, concepts and curriculum that was being implemented at Manchester City, and how these tools could be transferred to World Class. Rodolfo is intimately familiar with World Class FC having directed several workshops for World Class coaches during this past year at our facilities.

From Manchester, the World Class coaches traveled to London to visit Arsenal FC to learn about their girls development program. Like Manchester City on the boys side, Arsenal is viewed as having the top developmental model on the girls side. In addition to evaluating the soccer at Arsenal, the World Class staff did spend much time in sessions with Pedro Losa (Head Coach of the Arsenal Ladies team competing in the English Premier League). Pedro, who is also a product of Spain, has been tasked with developing the future stars at Arsenal, in addition to maintaining the first team's position as one of the top European clubs. Additionally he is very familiar with US soccer as he coached the Western NY Flash and top level players like Abby Wambach and Carly Lloyd. Additionally, this past September Pedro did lead a clinic for high school age players at World Class, and also evaluated our program. Pedro, is very high on the future at World Class, and said "I have traveled through much of the United States and World Class stands out as a unique and amazing club. More important than the great facilities, the leadership and staff have a clear picture of high level soccer and how to get there. I don't see other clubs going to the lengths World Class does to provide the latest and best insight to its players. For a player at World Class, truly a lucky place to be".

The World Class FC staff clearly had an excellent experience as explained by Director Kazbek Tambi, "In order for us to catch up to the best in the world, we have to study and learn the latest methods being used by the top international clubs in the world. Thus, we did take this trip and had a great experience and most importantly took away a lot of new insights that we can implement at World Class so that our players can better realize their potential."
